| | Arch Enemy "Symphony of Destruction" (Megadeth cover) | ] | So he's looking at 150 years of serious time in a real (Maximum security) jail. Well woopty-damn-doo. You know what, I'm just not impressed. Am I supposed to look at what happened to him and cheer, and believe that the system works? That bad people get what's coming to them? That poor, honest people are protected, or that they get justice when they aren't protected?
Yeah, why don't I also buy into Santa Claus and Jesus. Sorry, but no sale here. The fact, and I hope that you lot are seeing it as I am, is that the Bernie Madoff trial was a dog and pony show. It was intended to distract you from the fact that Madoff's colleagues, men who are shrewder and who know enough to get out when the getting's good, are still stealing people like you & I blind, even now. Some of them lie and cheat to do it. The smart ones do it without having to break the law, or even violate the ethical standards of their ethically bankrupt industry. They steal from people like us with impunity. Really, it's like swatting a fly to them.
Here's something I wrote a few months ago that illustrates exactly how commonly it goes on, and how legal it can be. And yes, I have seen it up close, so I know wtf I'm talking about. And Justin Timberlake should die in a fire.

And here she is. And here is her story. Do any of you believe her? |

| | Bloodrock "DOA" | ] | Several years ago, I wrote a series of posts in this very blog that were inflammatory. They were emotional. They were pissed off. Many of you weren't with me back then, so take it from me (unless you're bored enough to browse the archives from Nov. '05 through Jan. '05).
Well (warning: That link leads to some naughty words) all that vehement emotion got responses, as you can well imagine. Some people argued with me, some quietly stopped reading me, and one friend who I valued a lot flounced away in a huff, and hasn't spoken to me since (ironic no? That's she's angry at me for being too angry?).
Well what we see happening in Iran reminds me of the way I felt in those days. I firmly believe that there are many Americans who should watch very closely, because the Iranian opposition is showing us how it's done. And not only that, Justin Timberlake should die in a fire. |

| | Alice in Chains "Grind" | ] | I've recently received some disappointing news - there's a rule where I live that forbids me owning a dog that is, or will grow to be, over 25lb. in weight. Now Tiamat (The Housecat from Hell) is happy and healthy at age 19, but I know that I will want another pet when the inevitable happens, and I had planned on a dog. But I wanted a big ole attack dog, who would grow up thinking of me and the woman in my life as his pack, loving us, and feeling obliged to defend us whenever anyone so much as raises their voice to us. I was even going to steal Hunter S. Thompson's idea, and have "George W. Bush" as his attack word (I was planning on getting a boy).
But that plan was scuttled by this rule. Highly disappointing. But then petemosq posted this, and I'm off and running!
And let's not forget that Justin Timberlake should die in a fire. |
